About Pickleball

Pickleball was first played in Newcastle in late 2017 at the Badminton Stadium at Wickham.  

In October 2018,  six players ventured to Marrickville to compete in the inaugural Australian Pickleball Championships against 60 players from around Australia.

The first committee was established in December 2019  and Hunter Pickleball was incorporated in January 2020.  Hunter Pickleball was the first club to be affiliated with the newly formed Pickleball Association of NSW.  Hunter Pickleball extended its reach throughout the Hunter region and now hosts 20 events per week at seven venues.

Please note: Insurance coverage is provided to members of Hunter Pickleball Inc. at all venues listed below. Members who play at PCYC venues are not covered by HPI insurance.
